Kool Koop?
Pigeons on the ledge of Seattle's Central Library (5th Avenue side). Architect = Rem Koolhaas
Shot of IBM Building downtown. Architect = Minoru Yamasaki (lead architect for the World Trade Center). I liked the way the tree branches follow the curves of the building.

New Friend (Old Fred)
When I was walking along the beach this evening, the owner of these huskies started asking me about my camera. While she was talking to me, I took the opportunity to take a picture of one of them. Huskies always remind me of Fred, the dog we had when I was growing up who was half husky/half border collie. He only had one blue eye (the other was caramely brown), but this face is very familiar and sweet to me.

Serious Pie
Mike and I tried out Tom Douglas' latest venture (Serious Pie) for lunch today. I guess it finally opened on Saturday. It was the best pizza I've ever had...so good, in fact, that I'm not even sure it should be called pizza. Mike and I started things off by sharing the starter of roasted peach and prosciutto. Then we ordered the foraged mushroom with truffled cheese pizza. It was so delicious that Mike said that we had to try one more kind...so we went with the clam and pancetta next. I am NOT having dinner tonight! I'm still full from lunch. It's going to be a struggle for me to stay away from that place. But when you're so happy with a meal that you're afraid to eat again, (because you know whatever you eat next won't measure up... ) Well, that's good stuff!

Thursday Evening
I got home just before the final rainstorm of the day hit. After an hour or two, the skies cleared and I grabbed my camera and went for a walk.
While I was taking pictures of this flower,
(including this closeup) I felt like someone was watching me...
I wasn't wrong. This cat was lying on the fence next door, keeping an eye on me...

Nature's Bounty
These are just some of the things that were in Becky's garden. It was so nice to have a guided tour and be able to walk through the yard to take pictures of whatever I wanted. I am usually taking pictures of plants and flowers from a sidewalk, taking care not to cross the property line by more than a big toe's worth. So last night's tour was quite a luxury.

One More Evening
Here are some more pictures of a post-bath, pre-bedtime Eve at Chuck and Becky's house last night. Even though they are blurry--no flash, low light, wiggly subject, my apologies--I still think you can get a feeling for how nice it is to see a clean, happy baby all wrapped up in a nice fluffy towel. Bundle of joy, indeed!

Company!
Cory and Eve and Becky and Charles came over today. We visited and snacked and ate and all went for a walk down at the beach. But mostly we spent our time just giggling watching Eve perform her repertoire of smart baby tricks: Speaking in tongues, standing up, speed crawling, etc. Very entertaining!
