Olivia and Josh at the Office
These are my friends' (Denise and Steve) kids. Steve brought them into the office today for a
visit.

Can you tell how hard Josh is trying to smile?

Olivia is a pro at smiling for the camera. Posted by Picasa
Little Slice of Heaven, Waiting on the 37...
So here is my bus stop. Every weekday morning circa 5:40a.m., this is where I can be found.

And this is the view from my bus stop. Here goes the 5:30 ferry to Bainbridge. Posted by Picasa

Santa Fe Cafe (Phinney Ridge)

Deliciously tart margarita. Best in Seattle. Not pictured: guacamole appetizer (disappeared too quickly for proper photo op).

My "usual." Chicken enchiladas. And notice my second margarita, waiting in the wings. Most of my chicken enchilada was boxed up. It is resting comfortably in my refrigerator, waiting to report for duty as lunch or dinner later this week. Mmm... Posted by Picasa

Blooming
Thanks to Becky's gardening prowess, things are actually growing in our "yard."

I love the color combo on this little guy. So mod. Blue Star Anenome

But he is being overshadowed (literally and figuratively) by the coming out party that the ostentatious Miss Cherry is throwing for herself. Posted by Picasa
BooHooView
Some people about a block toward the beach from us are adding on (by building up). Adding on is fine, but building up means that we are going to lose a big chunk of our already tiny view. The first shot is from the sidewalk in front of our nextdoor neighbors' house. You can see the framed-in addition popping up. The second shot is from our living room (standing on the couch). You can see how much view we're going to lose once they start slapping on walls and roofs.

I am almost certain this means we're going to have to go up at least one story ourselves. That will happen when I finally win the lottery (which I don't ever play) or Publishers' Clearinghouse Sweepstakes (which I never enter). Posted by Picasa

Thinking of you, Dave...
(And wishing you were here...)

This morning I had breakfast at Lola with Becky, Chuck, Kent, Carolyn and Bill (Carolyn's husband). I got downtown early, so I decided to meander through the (Pike Place) Market.

Curds (in action) at Beecher's Handmade Cheese.
I took this picture at the Crumpet Shop, because I thought it was cute and funny. Then I realized this crumpet creature is stealing Dave's (dance) moves!
Here are Bill, Carolyn and Kent outside of Lola, post-breakfast. (All high on mini-doughnuts and eggs.) Posted by Picasa
Juliet + Cherry Blossom + Daffodil = ?

Yesterday, Juliet and I went for a walk while her dad, George and Spare Dave watched the LSU v. Texas basketball game at my house.

First step: Pick cherry blossom outside our front door.
Second step: Admire a daffodil a few blocks from our house, on the way to the park.
Third step: Juliet creates an entirely new flower by adding the cherry blossom to the daffodil. We didn't think of naming the new, improved flower, but I'm voting for Chaffodil. Posted by Picasa

"Mmm...polleny!"

There is small French Pussy Willow (Salix discolor) a few blocks from our house that is one of my favorite plants in the neighborhood. The first two pictures were taken on a sunny afternoon (following a very rainy morning) in mid-February. The last two pictures were taken on the beautiful Sunday we had last weekend. What a diffence a month can make.
