Trio of Urchins
These were made by my friend Marcos. They live on a teak side table in our living room. I love them. And I miss him. So, Marcos, if you're reading this: I think it's time you came over for a visit!

Sunrise from the 56
Sadly, this was the only shot I took today. (On the bus on my way to work.) I had plans, big plans, to take pictures after I left the office this afternoon. Maybe get some shots of downtown and Pike Place with my new lens...but no. As soon as I logged off my computer at work, it started raining.
Keep your fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Seeing Red
Actually, I'm so tired, I'm not really seeing anything beyond a good night's sleep. I have been working a lot of overtime lately, which doesn't leave many (or actually any) daylight hours for me to photograph in. This picture is from the "archives" (back when the days were longer and/or I had more time). Maybe I'll have a chance to get out this weekend, if there's not too much rain/snow.
Wish me luck!

New Art
I hung our new pieces of art (thank you, Christmas funds) on Sunday. Two shadowboxes by Lisa Congdon.

Color
Proof that I finally made it beyond the house today. It was a beautiful afternoon. You would have thought it was a summer day today, there were so many people down at the beach. Everyone was soaking up the sun (fully clothed) but still...people were definitely loading up on their vitamin D fix.
These are some details of peeling paint on various retaining walls along Alki and Beach Drive:

Homebody
There has been a recent outpouring (OK, only three of you) of concern regarding my lack of recent posts. People, what can I tell you? With holiday preparations come and gone, our marathon viewing of the entire final season of The Sopranos watched over my four day New Year's weekend and weather that hasn't been very conducive to outdoor photography-I just haven't the opportunity to take many pictures lately. A case demonstrated by these few photos that I have managed to snap. Indoors. In my own kitchen. A soapy pan in the sink and some sunlight streaming through the dishwasher rack. Not too exciting. But that's how things have been. Hopefully I will have better luck this week/weekend...maybe I'll make it as far as the living room!
