Seattle Sunrise
This morning, my camera and I snuck over to the west side of my office shortly after sunrise. The view of Elliott Bay from that side of the building is superb. Two Crowley tugs off Alki are in the foreground, the southern end of Bainbridge and the Kitsap peninsula beyond that. And of course, in the distance, the Olympics. I love Seattle.

I Love the 70's (More from the Thrift Store)
A harvest gold washing machine next to an avocado green dryer. Does it get more 70's than that?
When I saw this box at the thrift store, I couldn't believe it. This was a big game when we were little. It was played at Grandma's house, in her basement, mostly on Christmas Eve and ALWAYS with my cousins. It's the only thing I'm regretting NOT buying yesterday. I decided not to because they didn't have the original polka dotted bean bags, but now that I think about it, it would be an excellent game to play on our back deck in the summer. (Even with the substitute homemade denim bean bags that were in the box.)

More Thrift Store Design
Quite pleasant graphics.
Remember the whole "Spanish" arm of 70s decor? This console had it in spades.
This was a cool looking old waffle iron.
And this: Why? Why? Why?
I found myself asking that question a lot yesterday. Not why would someone get rid of this, but WHY would anyone ever think this should be made in the first place? Kittens on a clock? No thanks.

How High?
To kill time while waiting to be seated for dinner at the Santa Fe tonight, we headed over to the playground outside of Woodland Park Zoo. Uncle Cheese and Jules played on the swings, while Mike and I looked on from a nearby bench...congratulating ourselves on what fine children we have raised and how well they play together...

Ferry in Fog
This first picture is a ferry passing the marker at Alki Point last Saturday morning. (If you double-click on the picture, you can enlarge it, and maybe if you squint at it long enough you'll be able to make it out.)
This is looking down the beach toward the city. (You can't see the city, but you can barely make out the Alki Point marker in the upper left of the picture.)
